Over super bowl weekend and with all the award shows airing over these last few weeks, my roommates and I have experimented with a few fun finger foods to serve for party guests. The flavors for all these foods are familiar but the presentation is creative and unique. I would like to thank foodgawker for bringing these little inspirations to my household.
Corn dog muffins
The name might sound silly but these snacks are seriously delicious.
Iowa Girl Eats has a tasty recipe and beautiful pictures that make your mouth water. These little guys take you back to the memory of your first corn dog, remember the fair your family took you one summer when you were little?
The corn muffin is sweet and the hot dog is salty. Dip your muffin in some spicy mustard or tangy ketchup. I guarantee you that these mini delights will be a big hit and the first to be all gobbled up.
Caprese Skewers
This is a bright, reasonably healthy snack that won’t make you feel guilty for popping 10 ten of these in your mouth within a matter of minutes.
The best part about this treat is that it requires no cooking or baking. Simply purchase the mozzarella, cherry tomatoes and fresh basil and assemble.
This recipe can also be found on Iowa Girl Eats. I’ve noticed that people appreciate the lightness of this finger food. Top the little guys off with a little salt, pepper and balsamic reserva.
Spinach and Gruyère Pinwheels
The recipe is found on Tracey’s Culinary Adventures. Originally made as a puff pastry pinwheel, my roommates and I had phyllo in the freezer so we opted to use that instead.
The phyllo is so flaky and buttery, truly a savory indulgence.
Thank you Foodgawker for helping me find these magnificent little treats. Finger Foods are great for any occasion and these three are all big hits.
Happy Monday Everybody!

Love the idea of the Caprese Skewers — very cool and perfect as finger food and appetizers. Thanks for sharing these!
